The English Eloquence Contest and the effort to Accompany the Younger Generation to “Contribute to Diversity and Inclusivity”

On April 26, 2024, AEON Vietnam, entrusted by AEON 1% Club Foundation, successfully coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to organize the English Eloquence Contest for high school students. With the theme "What can the young generation do to contribute to Diversity and Inclusivity (D&I) in the School Environment?", the contest not only provided an opportunity for students to improve their English skills but also raised awareness about the topic of D&I.
AEON's activities always aim to “Create a future lifestyle that leads to a smile for each and every person”. Originating from this vision, the 2024 English Eloquence Contest focuses on exploring social topics to enhance education for the country's future generations and contribute to the sustainable development of the local community.
This year's contest welcomed the participation of high school students in Ho Chi Minh City, including Ngo Quyen High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Du High School, Marie Curie High School, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Nguyen Huu Cau High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School.
Through the contest, students not only had the chance to challenge themselves in a unique academic playground, expanding their English skills and encouraging logical thinking, but also to represent the modern Vietnamese generation by inspiring those around them. Specifically, with the theme "What can the young generation do to contribute to Diversity and Inclusivity in the School Environment?", this year's contest contributed to raising high school students' awareness about the concepts of diversity and inclusion, allowing them to share their youthful perspectives and viewpoints.
After the final round with 10 students, the contest successfully selected the 4 most outstanding students from the South. These students, along with the selected outstanding students from the North, will represent Vietnam in the 2024 Asia Youth Leaders program with a field trip to Japan scheduled from August 19 to August 23, 2024.
Since 2015, the English Eloquence Contest is preparing to enter its 10th year, becoming a prominent activity in AEON Vietnam's journey to nurture the younger generation.
In addition to efforts to enhance service quality so that each customer shopping experience is " Every meaningful purchase," AEON Vietnam also partners with the local community to create humanitarian values. Through this English Eloquence Contest, AEON Vietnam demonstrates its continuous efforts to nurture the younger generation for positive changes, working together with the community to create a sustainable future through environmental, social, and economic aspects.
