AEON AND THE THREE PILLARS IN ITS STRATEGY TO NURTURE THE YOUNGER GENERATION
25.11.2025
On the evening of November 22, the AEON Scholarship Award Ceremony took place in Hanoi through the collaboration of AEON Vietnam and local universities, under the trusteeship of the AEON 1% Club Foundation. This year’s ceremony also marks the 20th anniversary of the AEON 1% Club Foundation’s Scholarship Program, with the participation of alumni who once benefited from the scholarship. This initiative is not an isolated activity but part of a sustained series of programs that AEON Vietnam has been dedicated to for many years—aimed at nurturing the younger generation through three integrated approaches: equipping students with essential knowledge, creating meaningful real-world learning experiences, and providing financial support to ensure opportunities are accessible to all.

The AEON 1% Scholarship Award Ceremony took place on November 22, marking 20 years of AEON Vietnam’s involvement in programs dedicated to nurturing the younger generation.
AEON Vietnam’s Strategy for Nurturing the Younger Generation
Nurturing the younger generation is a key objective under the Social Sustainability pillar in AEON Vietnam’s Sustainability Policy. Recognizing that young people will shape the future and are essential to long-term social development, AEON Vietnam aims to create positive and lasting impact by investing in them today.
To begin with, AEON Vietnam focuses on providing the younger generation with essential foundational knowledge. This is the first step in helping students develop an understanding of environmental issues, community engagement, and the role each individual plays. Through activities such as the AEON Cheers Club, the Youth Ambassador Program and the Asian Youth Leaders Program, AEON Vietnam creates opportunities for students to interact, explore and develop their thinking, enabling them to form the right awareness that will guide their actions in the future. To put this into practice and strengthen students’ foundational understanding and action-oriented mindset, AEON Vietnam organized the 2025 English Speech Contest under the theme “Initiatives for Clean Water in Your Community and in Water-Scarce or Remote Areas in Vietnam.” The event serves not only as an academic platform but also as an initiative that enhances young people’s sense of responsibility toward clean water resources and the environmental challenges faced by many communities.
Alongside knowledge development, AEON Vietnam focuses on creating practical learning opportunities that allow students to gain early exposure to business environments and community projects. Through vocational scholarships that offer hands-on internships at AEON Vietnam’s business locations, as well as experiential learning activities conducted directly inside AEON stores through the AEON Cheers Club, AEON enables students to observe, interact and build their skills in real-life settings. These experiences not only broaden their perspectives but also equip them with confidence, adaptability and essential skills for their future development.
Additionally, AEON Vietnam places special attention on ensuring that financial support is provided to the right students, so that resources are allocated to those who truly need them. AEON implements scholarship programs for two groups of students: vocational students and university students. Specifically, AEON Vietnam offers scholarships for vocational students to help them receive early guidance in career development. At the same time, university students who achieve excellent academic results but face financial difficulties are selected to receive these scholarships. This financial support, together with the encouragement it provides, helps students access education, expand their learning opportunities, and develop more comprehensively. It is an important step in nurturing a confident and capable younger generation.
Over 15 years of working alongside the younger generation, AEON has created environments for learning, practical experience, and personal development for students. By 2025, the AEON Cheers Club program has expanded across the three regions of Vietnam, and the number of participating students has tripled in just two years.

In 2025, AEON Vietnam expanded the AEON Cheers Club program to all three regions, and the number of participants had increased threefold in just two years.
At the regional level, from 2011 to 2025, the Asian Youth Leaders (AYL) program provided opportunities for 202 Vietnamese students and 643 students from other Asian countries to meet, engage in discussions, and develop skills in teamwork, information analysis, public speaking, and critical thinking. The program has contributed to building a strong and promising community of young regional leaders. In parallel, capacity-building initiatives such as the Youth Ambassador Program and the English Speech Contest have helped over 100 Vietnamese students enhance their communication skills, critical thinking, and cross-cultural understanding.
AEON Vietnam continues to implement programs such as the Asian Youth Leaders (AYL) and the English Speech Contest to help Vietnamese students develop language skills, critical thinking, and cross-cultural understanding.
Regarding financial support, AEON Vietnam has awarded 15 scholarships worth 180 million VND to vocational school students. In addition, the AEON 1% Club Foundation has granted more than 1,500 scholarships with a total value of nearly 740,000 USD, equivalent to 19.5 billion VND, based on the exchange rate (1 USD = 26,403 VND) as of November 25, 2025, according to Vietcombank. These scholarships are for university students who come from difficult financial circumstances but have outstanding academic achievements - contributing to removing financial barriers and expanding fair development opportunities for the younger generation. AEON’s three strategic approaches – Knowledge, Experience, and Financial Support – complement each other in nurturing the younger generation, helping to shape students who are knowledgeable, skilled, and provided with opportunities to develop comprehensively into responsible citizens. AEON is committed to continuing its long-term, comprehensive, and sustainable engagement with young people, aiming to create positive impacts for the community and contribute to a bright future for Vietnam.
