On December 1, AEON Mall Binh Tan, Japanese retailer, brought a new experience to customers through the program "Light up the dreams", with the desire to contribute to enhance lifestyle, towards the "green" lifestyle for Vietnamese consumers.

"Light up the dreams" organized by AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd., supported by Binh Tan District People's Committee, Binh Tan District Education and Training Division, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Company, and Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited, was officially introduced to customers on December 1, 2018 at AEON Mall Binh Tan, with the desire to bring new experiences to customers, contribute to enhance life, aim to a "green" lifestyle for Vietnamese consumers.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, half of the 300 million tons of plastic producing each year in the world is being used to make disposable plastic, and only 9% is recycled after being thrown away. If using recycling the remaining plastic waste, surely the current economy and environmental situation will be significantly improved.

Recycling plastic bottles, towards a "green" lifestyle actively protecting the future environment is concretized into the story of the dream of the plastic bottle character "Bot-chan", that AEON Vietnam wants to convey through the event "Light up the dreams".

After the launch, the program "Light up the dream" has received more than 3,000 PET plastic bottles contributed by the students of two primary schools in Binh Tan district and AEON staff. Each bottle associated with the dreams of students will contribute to form 6 impressive Christmas trees, located at AEON Mall Binh Tan. Each Christmas tree carries a meaningful puzzle piece in the story "Light up the dream". The highlight of the event is the moment when the Christmas tree of the program is lighted in front of many customers at the Mall. These Christmas trees will be on display at AEON Mall Binh Tan until December 31, 2018.

The idea of using plastic bottles, decorate Christmas motifs and shimmering lights to create a "giant" Christmas tree has been successful for many consecutive years in Japan. It can be considered that the program “Light up the dreams” brought to Vietnamese consumers by AEON Vietnam is one of the ways to express expectations towards a civilized lifestyle and a green future.

Besides the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, many activities also are organized for children to help them better understand the "green" lifestyle. The fun games with a positive meaning help children and families know some ways to recycle waste, make use of plastic bottles to make flower pots, pen pots ... “Light up the dreams” has attracted many customers mostly families with young children to attend. This shows that Vietnamese families are still very interested in activities to support knowledge and living skills for their young children and especially their future living environment.

In addition, the “Light up the dreams” event takes place at the time when Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee just issued Decision No. 44/2018/QD-UBND on the classification of waste at source. Households and waste sources will have to use different color bags according to regulations. The fact, it is proven that waste treatment and living environment protection have become the concern of the authorities, businesses and people. In the future, AEON Vietnam will continue its efforts to bring many meaningful activities, contributing to improving the quality of life of Vietnamese consumers.

The experiences brought by AEON Vietnam with the hope of inspiring customers from small actions but great impacts help consumers closer to the "green" lifestyle - lifestyle of modern and civilized people in the future.
