The activities to encourage customers to use their own bag in the Single-Use Plastic Waste Reduction Project continue to be deployed and expanded at the General Merchandise Store & Supermarket AEON - Hai Phong Le Chan. The project has been implemented by AEON Vietnam since September 2019 in a system of 05 General Merchandise Store & Supermarket AEON nationwide. AEON Vietnam giveaways 48,000 environmental bags to customers in Hai Phong Specifically, in early November, AEON Vietnam giveaways 48,000 environmental bags of AEON - Hai Phong Le Chan version to local customers with the message "Choose your own bag - Choose to live healthy". Activities aimed at encouraging customers to carry their own bags when shopping, reducing the use of biodegradable bags to protect health and living environment. Nearly 80,000 shopping transactions using private bags nationwide. Always aiming to become a model corporate citizen, contributing to the sustainable development of the community, AEON Vietnam has been and continues to implement the long-term reducing the use of disposable plastic project with the customers and local people. As of November 2020, AEON Vietnam has reduced 27 tons of biodegradable plastic bags used in the system of the General Merchandise Store & Supermarket. In fact, since April 2020, there have been more than 80,000 transactions of the customers using their own bags, which increases 32% per month.
