AEON SCHOLARSHIP: Accompanying Vietnamese students to adapt and develop during the pandemic

In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, the 13th AEON Scholarship Award Ceremony for students in Ho Chi Minh City took place in an online form, receiving full attendance from both Vietnamese and Japanese bridgeheads. Through the journey of AEON Scholarship in 2021, AEON Vietnam wishes not only to contribute to equipping knowledge and skills, but also to create conditions for students to interact, learn about businesses, and prepare for personal development in the new normal.  

The 13th AEON Scholarship took place online, awarding 40 scholarships to students from 03 universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

AEON Scholarship – Cross-border connection journey to Vietnamese students In 2021, maintaining its commitment to contribute to the local community through activities to nurture and develop future generations, the AEON 1% Foundation continues to authorize AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. to organize the 13th scholarship awarding ceremony on the morning of November 17, 2021 through online form. AEON scholarships are awarded to 40 students with excellent academic achievements from 03 universities: University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony was held in a completely online form, with the full attendance of the representative of AEON 1% Fund from Japan - Mr. Yoshiki Mori - Foundation President and Mr. Honda Yohsei - General Secretary, presence. of the Board of Directors from 8 companies of AEON Group in Vietnam, together with the Board of Directors and students of 3 universities. Up to now, the AEON 1% Fund has awarded 1,040 scholarships to disadvantaged students with excellent academic achievements in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with a total scholarship value of more than 450,000 USD.

Through an online screen, AEON's representative, Mr. Yoshiki Mori - President of AEON 1% Foundation, congratulated the students who received this year's scholarships. At the same time, he also shared: “In an age of change and uncertainty, I believe that we need to reflect on what we want to do, and then do our best to find the answer for yourself. We hope that Vietnamese students will continue to work hard to study and hone their knowledge and pursue their dreams.”

The AEON Scholarship Award Ceremony 2021 welcomed the full attendance from representatives of the AEON 1% Foundation, AEON Group companies in Vietnam, representatives of the Board of Directors and students from 03 universities.

As one of the excellent students awarded the AEON Scholarship, Cam Ha, a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “My dream is to become a bridge between Vietnam and Japan, promoting cultural exchanges and images between the two countries. And 1% AEON Foundation has helped students like us have more motivation to firmly believe and pursue the path they have chosen.”

Accompany the development of future generations in the new normal The 13th year of the AEON Scholarship is also a time when the Covid-19 epidemic brings significant challenges to the socio-economic situation as well as to the education industry and the orientation of each student. In that context, AEON Vietnam hopes that the AEON Scholarship will be a source of encouragement and support for students to feel secure and continue to study. At the same time, through the scholarship awarding journey, AEON Vietnam also accompanies and shares so that the students have more knowledge and skills, ready to accept challenges in the new normal world. During the AEON Scholarship interview journey, the students also had the opportunity to look back and share their lessons after the Covid-19 pandemic to prepare for the future. Through their essays, they all identified the pandemic as a challenge, but also an opportunity to better understand themselves, thereby being firm and steadfast in the journey of self-development and contributing to the development of society.

The student selection process is also an opportunity for AEON Vietnam as a business, an employer, to interact more with future generations.
