19.11.2023

From November 13 to 19, 2023, 100 high school students from Vietnam and Japan participated in the "Teenage Ambassadors" cultural exchange program, sponsored by the AEON 1% Club Foundation and co-organized by AEON Vietnam. The program took place in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.

In order to promote friendship and promote multicultural cultural exchange between Japanese high school students and other countries, every year, the AEON 1% Club Foundation sponsors the Teenage Ambassadors program, with AEON Vietnam supporting the organization, creating a playground for students from the two countries to have many meaningful learning experiences.

In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, 50 students from Nguyen Hue High School, Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Kim Lien High School (Hanoi) and Marie Curie High School, Le Quy Don High School (Ho Chi Minh City) represented Vietnam, met and exchanged with 50 high school students of the host country, Japan. This special number symbolizes the number of years of friendship between the two countries.

Through the "Teenage Ambassadors" program, students from two different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles interacted with each other through three main activity groups: Knowledge exchange activities, Cultural exchange activities, and Historical exploration activities.

Some of these activities included a visit to famous landmarks such as the National Diet Building, the University of Tokyo, and the National Museum of Japanese History, as well as a direct experience of the traditional culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. There was also a cultural exchange night with performances of traditional arts and traditional dishes that reflect the cultural identity of the two countries.

The program was even more meaningful when the students watched a clip that recreated the history of 50 years of Vietnam-Japan relations, sang the song "Friendship" together, and talked with Prime Minister of Japan and the Ambassador representing the Vietnamese Consulate General in Japan.

AEON Vietnam, participating in the "Teenage Ambassadors" program as supporting organizer, hopes that this meaningful field trip will contribute to nurturing the positive development of the Vietnamese youth, bringing sustainable development to the community and society.
