AEON GROUP SUPPORTS PEOPLE AFFECTED BY TYPHOON YAGI WITH A TOTAL VALUE OF NEARLY 2.5 BILLION VND

On the afternoon of September 18, 2024, at the office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, AEON Group member companies in Vietnam represented the group and AEON 1% Club Foundation in donating nearly 1.5 billion VND to support people affected by Typhoon Yagi. From September 12th to 17th, AEON Vietnam collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to deliver thousands of essential goods packages, totaling 1 billion VND, to people affected by the typhoon in the northern provinces.

Specifically, on the afternoon of September 18, at the office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, AEON Group representatives handed over nearly 1.5 billion VND to support the people of the Northern provinces in overcoming the difficulties caused by Typhoon Yagi, contributing to disaster recovery and stabilizing their lives.
The donation ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives from AEON Group in Vietnam, and representatives from AEON Group’s member companies in Vietnam such as AEONMALL Vietnam, AEON Delight Vietnam, AEON TOPVALU Vietnam, and AEON Fantasy Vietnam.
At the donation ceremony on September 18, Mr. Furusawa Yasuyuki, Executive Officer of AEON Co., Ltd (Japan) in charge of Vietnam Business and General Director of AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared, “As a retail business, we not only focus on the products and services we provide to our customers. During times of typhoon, floods, and natural disasters, we will cooperate and join forces with local authorities to help restore the difficult lives of people affected by these disasters."
Earlier, from September 12 to September 17, AEON Vietnam, the company responsible for general retail under the AEON Group in Vietnam, collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to distribute thousands of essential good packages worth 1 billion VND to severely affected provinces. The gift packages included essential food items such as canned goods (meat, fish), ready-to-eat sausages, biscuits, sweet/savory bread, and bottled water. These were vital items that helped people overcome difficult times and gradually stabilize their lives after the disaster.
AEON Vietnam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, distributed these essential packages to people in areas affected by Typhoon No. 3
AEON Vietnam employees directly accompanied the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s delegation to deliver essential goods packages to residents in Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Lang Son, Cao Bang, and several other provinces affected by the typhoon.
